BARTOW COUNTY, GA — Back-to-school planning has already begun in our area, with calendars available to help parents prepare for the first days in Bartow County and Cartersville.
The first day of school for most students in Bartow County is next Wednesday, Aug. 4. For students in Cartersville City Schools, the first day is Wednesday, Aug. 11.
Heading into the upcoming school year, some dates are subject to change as the coronavirus pandemic nears its year-and-a-half point. A mix of in-person, virtual and hybrid learning is still possible in Bartow County and Cartersville.
Bartow County schools will use three tiers of COVID-19 precautions to be enacted depending on community spread and other factors. However, the school year will start with in-person instruction, with remote learning an option.
Masks will not be required nor prohibited. Also, temperature checks for students and staff are not required upon arrival at any Bartow County school.
Cartersville City Schools has no information about COVID-19 precautions for the coming year on its website and Facebook page
