DEKALB COUNTY, GA — Back-to-school planning has already begun in our area, with calendars available to help parents prepare for the first day in DeKalb County.
The first day of school for DeKalb County School District students is Monday, Aug. 2.
Heading into the upcoming school year, some dates are subject to change as the coronavirus pandemic nears its year-and-a-half point. A mix of in-person, virtual and hybrid learning is still possible in DeKalb County.
Masks will be required for students, staff, and visitors at DeKalb County Schools' facilities, on buses and at indoor extracurricular activities.

Inclement Weather Days (school closed): Oct. 7-8 and Oct. 11

Thanksgiving Break: Nov. 22-26
Early Release: Dec. 17
Winter Holidays: Dec. 20-Jan. 3
School Holiday (MLK Jr. Day): Jan. 17
Inclement Weather Days (school closed): Feb. 18 and Feb. 21

Spring Break: April 4-8
Last Day (plus early release): May 20
