Tamed Lovebird for Rehoming

Description

I'm looking to re-home my Fischer's Lovebird; I've had him for about two years now and he went from not being tame at all when I got him, to being a love-bug. He loves to ride on shoulders, will step up and give kisses, and we were starting to 'target practice' to train him for more complicated tricks...but then I got a kitten. I've had the kitten for a year now, and hoped he would chill out, but he just isn't. His hunting instinct is really high, so I have to have them separated at all times, and it just isn't fair for the bird. :'( I still try to make time to have him out a couple of times a week to hang out with us in the living room while we watch TV or game, or in the kitchen (he loves to 'cook' together if I'm making a salad or something that doesn't require using heat!) But I'm noticing lately that the bird is getting really lonely after a year of this, he 'contact calls' for me all the time now, and just seems a lot more stressed and clingy when he has to be in his cage by himself, even though I try to keep him in a central area. I'd either need to get him a pal, or rehome him. I figure I'd try rehoming him first since Lovebirds are finicky with other birds, and he does love people. He has been awesome with my little siblings and cousins (all older than 7-) and has met many of my friends and my boyfriend and will happily step up and give kisses and ride on shoulders after getting to know someone. ***** I am asking a rehoming fee of 250.00 for him and his mid/large cage + all food and toys / dishes ****** (Cage pictured is the one he comes with) All together it would be a lot more for the kind of cage he would come with + a tamed bird from a breeder or petstore (like he was 200.00 from preuss pets without being tamed when I bought him originally, the cage was also a little over 250.00 by itself as it's large and metal wire)- I do want him to go to a home where he'll be appreciated! New bird owners are fine, I'd be happy to spend time showing you how to care and handle him :) ***** Or if you just want to have the bird without the cage to join a flock or if you already have a cage large enough for him, I'd be ok with a rehoming fee of 150.00 ****** Serious responses only, thank you! Text / emails are fine :) We can meet in Okemos, East Lansing, or Lansing for pick up!
