I see the issue as not playing down what happened Jan 6th which was very bad, under no circumstance can those that broke into the Capitol, fought with police and vandalized be excused from facing justice which virtually everyone agrees on. Where the disagreement lays is the refusal of Democrats to hold those responsible & accountable for all the other Federal buildings attacked, burned and otherwise damaged including fighting with police around the country last year. Furthermore when Sen. Chuck Schumer of New York led a mob on the steps of the Supreme Court while a case was being heard and tried to thwart the natural deliberation of justices by violently threatening two of them to rule in favor of his and other Democrats’ preferred outcome. “I want to tell you, Gorsuch, I want to tell you, Kavanaugh, you have released the whirlwind, and you will pay the price. You won’t know what hit you if you go forward with these awful decisions,” Schumer threatened the two most recently confirmed justices. Nothing was done to Schumer, he wasn't censured, no recall or demands for his removal even considering the facts that the protest he organized lead to violence as protesters he incited tried to break into the Supreme Court. Americans have to decide if we'll accept a two tiered justice system that allows one political party's members getting away with extreme violence and incitement while the other receives punishment. Jan 6th didn't have to happen if Speaker Pelosi took adequate measures to protect the Capitol knowing full well a massive protest was going to happen as she was warned a group of protesters planed to breach the Capitol if allowed. The Capitol Police chief begged for the National Guard several times before the protest and she turned him down through the Sergeant of Arms of the House. Trump offered the National Guard presence and she turned his offer down too. If you truly want accountability then Pelosi has to be held partially responsible for what ensued. Yet you nor any other Democrat is even remotely concerned about her failures. Yes Jan 6th was a big deal, so was the Schumer lead protest that became violent at the Supreme Court and the riots last year attacking and burning Federal buildings. If you are truly patriotic and concerned then show it by wanting everyone who caused or incited violence to be held accountable not just the ones you have other disagreements with. 20 years ago, it would have been very easy for Trump supporters to downplay the events that wend down at the capitol on jan 6th. In this days we would have been lucky to have a few grainy newspaper photos and a few short clips from news agencies that were on scene. But this not NOT 20 years ago. We literally have hundreds if not a thousand videos and photos of this insurrection. We have undeniable first hand proof of what went down. The vast majority of the footage that we have was literally taken by the Trump supporters that participated in the crime. It is extremely rare that we have terrorists providing footage of their own crime. We also have security footage from the capitol building. Hours of crystal-clear high def. proof that the insurrection occurred and just how it went down. it is simply idiotic for any personj to claim that it did not occur and that it was non violent. We have all seen the footage. Every person in the free world saw it go down live. To claim that jan 6th did not occur or that it was anything short of an insurrection is flat out delusional. Facts matter. Reality matters. Truth matters.
