Hound dogs?

Looking for a hound good with kids and dogs (we frequently visit family and friends with all different size dogs and kids of all ages, would love to bring the dog along to play, we also love going to parks). We own our house, fenced in yard, and have a full time work at home parent. We'd also love to know your vet or vet reccomendation so we can keep him up to date. Hounds hold a special place in my kids hearts snoopy, Bowser the hound etc. They will have a forever home with a lot of attention and exercise.
