Hello!! My name is Jessica and I'm a former nanny with an educational background in Early Childhood Development and Early Education. While I no longer nanny I still like to babysit. Some of my skills include hide & seek, dramatic play, reading books, answering a million questions, asking a million questions, building forts, putting together tasty snacks and meals, CPR & First Aid certified, running amok, being silly, checking for monsters, silly voices, arts & crafts, a boatload of patience and understanding, sending parents cute pics and updates, getting kids to bed on time (well, as close as humanly possible), having a good attitude, being punctual, and just genuinely enjoying hanging out with tiny humans. I'm in my 30s and have been babysitting since I was a teen. My early 20s I studied child development and thought I was going to be a teacher, but I wound up nannying for close to a decade. Now I've got an office job but I like to pick up occasional evenings and weekends babysitting. I have experience with babies as young as 6 weeks and pretty much every age and stage up to pre-teens. I love love love babies and toddlers. I'm comfortable babysitting multiple children. My record is 12 kids at a wedding, tag teamed with another babysitter. Solo record is 5 kids. I live in Bushwick and am comfortable traveling within most of Brooklyn and most of Manhattan. Rates vary depending on how many children, but I generally charge around $18-25 an hour.
