Description

The Indigenous Breastfeeding Counselor training is a 5 day, 45 hour course that provides foundational lactation education and certification. The Indigenous Breastfeeding Counselor training is a 5 day, 45 hour course that provides foundational lactation education and certification to Native people so that they provide clinical breastfeeding support in their communities. This course is Native designed, is Native taught and is specifically for those that self identify as Indigenous. The training location is at the Navajo Nation Museum Auditorium in Window Rock, Arizona. The dates are September 20 -24, 2021. Class will begin at 8:00 AM and end at 5:00 PM Mountain Daylight Time. The Indigenous Breastfeeding Counselor training is for those that identify as Indigenous. The Navajo Nation training is open to Indigenous people living in Arizona with priority being those that live in NE Arizona. While children have always been welcomed to our trainings, due to COVID restrictions and the safety of our students we are asking that only "babes in arms" attend and face masks will be required during the event. *We will be adhering to Navajo Nation COVID-19 safety guidelines.
