Medical Reserve Corps' next meeting with a Mindfulness Workshop is August 11, 2021. Please register here. Crisis Counselors Safyah Alam and Frank Chapa from the Gulf Coast Center will facilitate the mindfulness workshop on Wednesday, August 11th . The Mindfulness Workshop provides information on the origins of mindfulness, what mindfulness entails, how it can be incorporated in daily living, and the many health benefits of being mindful. The workshop also has a live mindfulness exercise that participants will take part in as a group. Due to the July 27, 2021 CDC recommendation, non-vaccinated and fully vaccinated people are to wear a mask at this meeting in a public indoor setting. The Galveston County Medical Reserve Corps (GCMRC) is a community oriented service organization. Our mission is to help Galveston County in the event of a public health emergency. We also work actively in our neighborhoods and communities throughout the year in a broad range of events and trainings.
