Description

An educational walk through Woodstock, VT to learn about Chimney Swifts. Join us in downtown Woodstock at 6:30 on August 6 to learn more about Chimney Swift conservation and rehabilitation, and to watch Chimney Swifts during their evening activities. Meet VINS staff and learn about conservation work led by Audubon VT, as well as rehabilitation of injured and orphaned swifts. We will be walking around downtown Woodstock looking for foraging swifts and potential roosting and nesting sites to help support the Chimney Swift Recovery Project, and to learn more about how citizen science can support research of at-risk species. The walk will end at the Woodstock Inn where a roost is believed to exist, to hopefully see a flock of swifts entering their roost for the night. The meeting location will be the parking lot of Mac's Market on Main Street in Woodstock. Bring some binoculars, and we will have some available for use as well.
