The Tenth Annual Surfing for Hope Longboard Contest Weekend The Tenth Annual Surfing for Hope Longboard Contest Weekend will take place on October 2, 2021 in Pismo Beach, California. This event is designed to help inspire people challenged by cancer through the positive energy of surfing. This Year's Line Up The Longboard Surf Contest (Saturday, Oct. 2, starting at 8:00am) is upgraded to Pro-Am status. As always it is open to all ages and includes a variety of divisions, including our highly competitive costumed “Pure Stoke” team heat.The Cancer Resource Health Fair (Saturday, Oct. 2, 10:00 - 2:00pm) features businesses and local groups providing support, education, and help to individuals and their families currently going through the cancer experience. Free food and entertainment by local bands throughout the day.Gala Dinner and Auction (Saturday, Oct. 2, 5:00 - 8:00pm) location to be determined.Our Awards Ceremony (Saturday, Oct. 2, starting at 4:00pm) location to be determined.The 2021 Memorial Paddle Out (Date and Time TBD) IN AVILA BEACH, CA is an excellent opportunity to connect with others effected by cancer and those participating in our 2021 event.All proceeds from Surfing for Hope, with French Hospital serving as the presenting sponsor, will benefit the Surfing for Hope Foundation in San Luis Obispo. Since 2012, the foundation has raised more than $300,000 to support and assist cancer patients and their families; 2018 beneficiaries included the Pure Stoke Youth Program and several local cancer resources for those currently battling cancer.
