Description
An introduction to SketchUp 3D modeling software. This is our introduction to SketchUp course. If students would like to continue their education, they can move on to SketchUp Level 2 after completing the introduction course. In this Level 1 course, students will focus on: Designing in SketchUp - Introduces you to the basic concepts behind drawing accurately in 3D.Drawing Quickly – Learn the SketchUp tools and concepts necessary to draw quickly, create cut lists and maximize materials for minimal waste and it can be directly uploaded to VCarve Pro for CNC machining of parts.Viewing Models in 3D – See your project in 3D space.Adding Detail to Your Models – Improves accuracy and adds realism to your plans.Presenting Your Models – Present quality renderings for presentation of your models to clients.Most importantly, it is fun and easy!Please Note: This is a 4 hour class on Wednesday's from 5pm - 9pmLocation: MaketoryIf class is sold out and you have a group interested, please contact us directly to coordinate a new date. We require at least 3 participants to run the course. In the event we do not reach 3 participants we will reach out to reschedule or issue a refund, whichever you prefer. You can learn more about our membership options on our website or contact us directly at 858-252-1919 or [email protected] About the Instructor: Jerry Beaudry Originally from Chicago, Jerry’s interests in woodworking were developed at a young age with his father who was a general contractor building custom homes. When he relocated to San Diego, he became a Shipwright working in the local boat building yards building and refurbishing wooden vessels to 45 feet. In 1999 he attended Palomar College where he refined his craft and in 2003 was asked to join the staff as an associate professor in the Cabinet and Furniture department teaching entry level classes and specialized classes in advanced table and chair making while owning and operating a successful custom cabinet and furniture business. He would later develop several advanced classes within the curriculum such as advance veneering techniques, and furniture design with CAD. In 2014 he headed up the CNC effort at the Palomar College to train designers and operators using several different wood CNC machines within the department.
