Description
Playing Celtic and Irish music in the traditional style. On Thursday, August 26 at 6:30 pm, Granna will perform at Dangberg Historic Park. This trio represents the music that is steeped in traditions of Ireland dating back over 200 years. The mix of Autumn Rhodes’ heavily rhythmic and pulsating style on the concertina and flute combined with haunting songs in both Irish and English blend perfectly with Tim Hill’s relaxed yet deadly accurate uilleann piping and Jimmy Murphy's steady and vibrant guitar playing with plaintive vocals. The collective result is a graceful and infectious sound that has drawn rapt audiences from both sides of the coast and the Atlantic, as well as Japan. With over 30 years of combined performances and concerts in well known local venues including the LA Music Center and the Ford Amphitheater, places around the country including the Great American Music Hall, Constitution Center, Grand Ol' Opry & Carnegie Hall, and far off places including Royal Albert Hall and the pubs and stages of Japan, Granna represents the very best in Irish traditional music and song. Concert tickets are $20 and only a limited number of tickets are available so advance purchase is recommended. Members of the non-profit Friends of Dangberg can purchase discounted tickets and should contact the park directly to make arrangements. Youth 16 and younger enter for free when accompanying a ticketed adult. Please bring your own seating and no pets allowed - service animals only. Guests are welcome to bring a picnic to enjoy as no food or beverages will be sold at these events. All events are held outdoors. Gate opens at 5:30 pm.
