About the benefit game: Lieutenant Daniel Tallman of the Highland Fire Department was diagnosed with two rare types of Kidney Cancer in November of 2020. Daniel had undergone major surgery to remove one of his kidneys in November. Daniel and his wife Tiffany recently had a baby boy in March of 2021. During routine follow up scans in May of 2021 doctors found one of the cancers had returned. Daniel started taking treatments in June of 2021. The money raised for this fundraiser will go directly to the family of Lieutenant Tallman. Tallman has dedicated his life to serving the public. Lieutenant Tallman began his fire service career in 2002. In 2018, Tallman joined the ranks within the Highland Fire Department and currently works full time for the Office of the Illinois State Fire Marshal as a Special Agent Arson Investigator. He continues to serve the firefighting community as an instructor for the Illinois Fire Service Institute, teaching the next generation of firefighters.
