The Cross Cultural Family Center provides child care and development services to 380 children in San Francisco at multiple child development centers throughout the city. The Facilities Maintenance Manager position is a full-time, 12 month position with managerial responsibilities to oversee and perform all maintenance requirements that ensure safe and healthy care and education environments and that meet the requirements of California Community Care Licensing. This position will supervise up to three employees, oversee janitorial service contractors and coordinate all outside contractual maintenance and construction contracts. Primary location of the position is at the Administrative Office of the Cross Cultural Family Center, however the Facilities Maintenance Manager is expected to spend up to 75% time in the field providing director maintenance, repairs and oversight of projects associated with facilities upkeep. General responsibilities include assessing and evaluating facility needs (indoor and outdoor/playground areas), tracking and monitoring requests and completion of repair and maintenance, ensuring that work jobs are addressed in a timely manner, and performing routine and emergency repairs at all sites. This position also is responsible for the upkeep of agency vehicles, ensuring that safety checks occur and repairs of vehicles are made in a timely manner. The Maintenance Manager must be available for after hour facility emergencies. He or she may also coordinate facility construction, renovations and playground development. Qualifications Minimum requirements include Associate Degree or higher in management, business management or related field, two years of experience in directing maintenance of multiple facilities, experience with educational facilities and or child care centers, three years of experience in repair and maintenance of equipment furniture, fixtures, facilities systems, grounds and structures. Must have a valid California Driver’s License, flexibility to perform occasional after hours emergencies. Knowledge, skills and abilities include: knowledge of Community Care Licensing Child Care Facilities regulations and/or demonstrated ability to interpret and implement regulatory standards and guidelines; problem solving and diagnostic skills pertaining to buildings and playgrounds; strong organizational and time management skills, ability to community (verbal and written) effectively with others, advanced knowledge and ability to repair and maintain equipment, furniture, fixtures, facilities systems, grounds and structures, ability to perform the physical tasks (lift and move up to 70 lbs.), and ability to work independently with minimal direct supervision Position Information Full time regular employment; non-exempt; good benefits, including health care coverage and retirement plan, paid sick leave and vacation leave.
