Description

Look out for lovebirds! Let's look for lovebirds! We will be walking the Kiwanis Park Lakefront Trail, a 0.8 mile paved path while using iNaturalist to make observations. If you haven't used iNaturalist before, don't worry! We will walk you through it. The August EcoQuest is all about lovebirds, and we hope to learn more about these colorful feathered characters. Parking: There is ample parking at the lot off of Ash Avenue, near "The Cloud" splash pad. Where to meet: Meet on the sidewalk at the intersection of the North Playground and the public restrooms. What to bring: Appropriate clothing and footwear and we recommend binoculars. Don't forget the sunscreen and plenty of water! This event is limited to 10 attendees on a first-come-first-served basis. Proper face masks will be required and worn, and we will practice social distancing. Waivers will be emailed to all registrants, please fill out and bring with you, or email PDFs to [email protected]. Contact: Should you have any questions the day of the event, please email [email protected]. Lovebird photo courtesy of Reagle Photography. The Metro Phoenix EcoFlora is a collaborative community science project that is making plant science meaningful and open for everyone, while we learn about the biodiversity of our urban desert home. We need your help! This is an opportunity to contribute to real-life science while studying plants in metro Phoenix, what is happening with them, and how these plants are interacting with other organisms. We host workshops and community science events centered around using iNaturalist, making observations and learning more about the biodiverse organisms that call metro Phoenix home.
