LOWELL, MA — A 19-year-old Lowell man was arrested twice and charged with driving under the influence in New Hampshire early Wednesday morning, according to the Pelham Police Department.
Officers said Anthony Ou of Lowell walked into the lobby of the Pelham Police Department at 6:03 a.m. Wednesday. He told the dispatcher that he was arrested earlier in the night and requested his property back. One of the officers became suspicious because his department had not arrested anyone that night.
That officer then spoke with Ou and learned that he had been arrested and charged with DUI in Hudson, New Hampshire after a crash in that town around 1 a.m. He determined that Ou drove himself to the Pelham Police Department and was confused about his location. The officer also noticed that he seemed impaired during the conversation, according to the Pelham Police Department.
Ou was arrested and charged with DUI, breach of bail conditions and operating after suspension after the investigation in the lobby. The property he was searching for was located in his pants pocket during booking, the police department said.
"Anthony was released to a responsible, sober adult after posting bail," police said in a news release.
Ou is scheduled to appear in the Salem District Court for arraignment on Monday, Aug. 16, 2021, at 8 a.m.
