Healthy 22nd Street Backyard Gardening workshop. Those who complete it will receive a compost bin with supplies. Healthy 22nd Street Gardeners will be given the opportunity to register first. After Wed. Aug 4th, remaining spots will be opened up to other residents in East Tampa. In order to grow healthy vegetables we must have healthy, nutritious soil. Composting is the most effective way to improve your soil. Learn how! This organization was formed in 2015 by Lena Young Green and Kitty Wallace. Along with 4 other existing community gardens with the intention of providing support for the success and formation of community gardens in West Central Florida. Members of the Coalition meet quarterly, and offer an annual conference to the community to inform, inspire and provide an opportunity to network with other urban agriculture advocates.
