NORTH ANDOVER, MA — Back-to-school planning has already begun in North Andover, with calendars available to help parents prepare for the first day in North Andover Public Schools. The first day of school for most students in North Andover is Wednesday, Sept. 1. For students starting kindergarten and pre-K, school starts the following day — Thursday, Sept. 2. Heading into the upcoming school year, some dates are subject to change as the coronavirus pandemic nears its year-and-a-half point. A mix of in-person, virtual and hybrid learning is still possible in North Andover. According to North Andover Public Schools, it's currently planning a full return to the classroom this fall. At this time, per the Massachusetts Department of Secondary and Elementary Education, all health and safety guidance including masking and physical distancing will be lifted for Fall 2021. However, this is subject to change — especially as new COVID-19 cases climb due largely in part to the new delta variant.
