MILFORD, MA — Milford police arrested and charged a North Carolina man this week after he was seen attacking gas pumps at two different town fill stations, according to police. The 20-year-old was spotted Monday night at the Gulf station at 93 Cedar St., and then a short time later at the Mobil station nearby at 134 Cedar St., police reported. "Most of the gas pumps were severely damaged with glass shattered and several gas holsters were found on the ground," Milford police said in a news release about the damage at the Mobil station. Police did not locate the vandal on Monday, but he was caught on a surveillance camera. On Wednesday, police went to the Fairfield Inn hotel along Fortune Boulevard for a medical call. At the hotel, they spotted a guest who fit the description of the gas station attacker. Police were able to match the guest's sweatshirt to the one worn during the vandalism. The Charlotte, N.C., man was charged with three counts of malicious destruction of property and disorderly conduct, according to police.
