We expect hard work for better than average pay – does this sound like you? $22.00-25.00 an hour to start DOE + benefits (after 60 days) This is a full time, non-exempt hourly position and is overtime eligible. Day porters are often unseen workers at shopping centers, malls and other large common spaces. These porters do more than clean, they help uphold the image of the facility and ensure that it is a place that customers want to frequent. By making sure that the property looks nice, clean and in good repair, day porters provide property management with an invaluable service that keeps both customers and tenants happy. Position Summary: As a Porter for NWCREI you will be more than a janitor, more than a handyperson, you will be a key part of our property management team. We will look to you in maintaining the upkeep of grounds, amenities, building exteriors and tenant areas, parking lots and in monitoring the activities around the busy city locations we manage. Duties include, but are not limited to: Performing general building upkeep and duties as assigned. Throughout the workday patrol and inspect building exteriors and grounds to ensure safety and cleanliness. General exterior clean-up, maintenance/repair. Exterior paint and graffiti removal as needed. Reporting any potential hazards or future actions needed at the property to management. Very little or no driving will be required of the position once you are on site for the workday. You will help monitor vendors performing contracted duties at the property, reporting needs and issues to the property manager. As our person in-the-field you’ll be expected to share your ideas and provide input to the property manager. Duties, responsibilities and activities may change at any time with or without notice. • Responsible for upkeep of grounds, parking lots and other areas of the buildings. • Team with scheduled cleaning vendors to remove trash from the property on a daily basis. • Graffiti removal as needed on painted surfaces, and work with vendor for other areas. • Perform minor assigned maintenance tasks. • Occasional power washing. • Patrolling stairwells and emergency exits – asking loiters to move-on. • Maintaining garage dumpster areas. • Help maintain general curb appeal. • Report unsafe conditions and monitor until corrected. Qualifications: • High school graduate or equivalent required. • Ability to work independently and in cooperation with others. • Organizational and time management skills. • Reliability is necessary. Able to be on time every workday. • Good communication skills • Able to follow direction Physical and Mental Accuity Demands: The requirements described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. • Observe safety and ergonomic rules always. • Ability to climb a ladder on a frequent basis. • Walk frequently, including up and down stairs. • Ability to use power and hand operated tools. • Frequent use of cleaning agents/chemicals and painting materials. • Ability to work outside in different elements. • Must be able to stoop, bend, twist and stand for periods of time. • Able to lift and move up to 50 pounds and push and pull up to 75 lbs.
