Body Discovered In Naugatuck River; Police Investigating

NAUGATUCK, CT — Naugatuck police detectives are investigating after a body was discovered in the Naugatuck River Tuesday afternoon near Platts Mill Road and Radnor Avenue, police officials said. Authorities received calls about the body at about 3:40 p.m., and after located it, police quickly determined the person was dead. "The scene was processed by Naugatuck Police Detectives with assistance from [the Connecticut State Police] Central District Major Crime Squad," Naugatuck police officials said. "Additionalsupport was provided by Beacon Falls Fire Department Water Rescue team. The investigation into this incident is ongoing at this time."
