Herndon College Students Receive Academic Honors

HERNDON, VA — In spite of the many hurdles the COVID-19 pandemic has presented to college students from Herndon, many have continued to pursue their education. Some have done so with distinction. The following students were recognized recently by their respective schools for their academic achievements: Karen Luu of Herndon was named to the dean's list for the spring 2021 semester at Emmanuel College. To earn a spot on the dean's list, Emmanuel students must achieve a grade point average of 3.5 or higher for a 16-credit semester.Katherine Salmon of Herndon excelled during the spring 2021 semester, achieving a GPA of at least 3.5 to earn a spot on the dean's list.Brian Lawson of Herndon was a May graduate and majored in chemistry at Hamilton College. She also was named to the dean's list.Jazmyn Stokes of Herndon is a member of the class of 2021 at Bucknell University. She achieved dean's list status for spring 2021.Alissa Mann of Herndon, who is in the electrical engineering program, earned a spot on the dean's list for the spring semester at the Rochester Institute of Technology.Dhanvant Ganapathiraju of Herndon, who is in the electrical engineering program, earned a spot on the dean's list for the spring semester at the Rochester Institute of Technology.Veronica Philipps of Oak Hill, who is in the mechanical engineering program, earned a spot on the dean's list for the spring semester at the Rochester Institute of Technology.Daniel Park of Herndon, who is in the film and animation program, earned a spot on the dean's list for the spring semester at the Rochester Institute of Technology.Emma Shacochis of Herndon is a class of 2023 student in the writing, lit and publishing program at Emerson College. She was named to the dean's list for the spring semester.Noah Luckenbaugh of Herndon is an economics major in the class of 2021 at the College of the Holy Cross. He was named to the 2021 dean's list.
