MERCER COUNTY, NJ — Hello neighbors! Welcome to our events roundup, where we tell you about what's happening in Mercer County this week. Here's are some events we think you might enjoy: Mercer County 4-H Fair, Howell Living History Farm: Animal shows and exhibits, homemade ice cream, hayrides, pony rides, music, magic shows, farm tours, and more — the 102nd Mercer County 4-H Fair has a lot to offer. Check out displays by the Rutgers Master Gardeners of Mercer County, Bayshore Variety Pigeons, New Jersey Farm Bureau, and more. Free admission and parking for all. The Fair will run from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Saturday, July 31, and from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., Sunday, Aug. 1. Admission and parking are free. The opening ceremony is on July 31, at 1 p.m. in the Show Tent. Sensational Soul Cruisers Concert, Mercer County Park Festival Grounds: The Sensational Soul Cruisers will perform on Friday, July 30 from 6 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. This 11 man horn group will pay homage and tribute to classic performers from Otis Redding and the Drifters to Barry White and the Commodores. Opening for the Soul Cruisers will be The Discoteks. Gates for the event will open at 5 p.m. Admission is free. The opening band will begin performing around 6:30 p.m. Guests can bring lawn chairs, blankets, and pack coolers with sealed bottles of water. There will also be vendors on site. Parking is $5. For more information, call (609) 443-8560. Nature Hike, Mercer County Park: No theme, no focus, no itinerary - this is just a nature hike to enjoy what the county has to offer. On Friday, July 30 join community members for a hike throughout one of the county parks. There may be brief pauses to admire various elements of nature. Wear sturdy shoes and bring a water bottle. July 30 hike will meet at Mercer County Park at 8:30 a.m. Mercer County Park Concerts, Mercer County Park Festival Grounds: The Best of the Eagles are back for a summer night at the Festival Grounds. The band will be playing on Saturday, July 31 at This is not a copy band or impersonator act but rather a group of excellent musicians who expertly and authentically re-create the songs, the music, vocals, and the magical aura of one of America's greatest rock bands. Opening for the Best of the Eagles will be Reock and Roll Review featuring Tom Reock and Ernie White. The opening band will begin performing around 6:30 p.m. Admission is free. Music in the Park, Lawrenceville: Enjoy music by Kindred Spirit, a popular rock n' roll cover band based in Central NJ, on Thursday. The band will be playing at Weeden Park from 6 p.m. onwards. The concert is part of Lawrenceville Main Street's Music in the Park series, and are free to attend. Their music includes Classic Rock, Motown, and Party Rock by bands such as Santana, Steely Dan, Beatles, Grateful Dead, U2, Tom Petty, Eric Clapton, Aerosmith, The Who, and others.
