Urban Farmhouse Furniture Company is looking to hire experienced Furniture Delivery Drivers. Candidates must have a valid Driver's License and be able to drive a delivery truck and lift furniture items up to 100 pounds. Saturdays are required. The delivery driver will work with other members of the distribution team to increase company profitability and customer satisfaction by delivering complete, accurate and on-time deliveries to the company’s customers. The driver will represent the company in a highly professional, safe and cost-effective manner that complies with DOT and other applicable regulations. Duties: Pulling, filling, packing and setting up orders for delivery or pickup Prepare truck for operation by assisting in and overseeing the loading of trucks, securing of items and verifying the accuracy of shipping papers Inspect truck tires, lights, brakes, fluids, etc. to ensure safe and cost-effective performance with preventive maintenance in mind Maintain the ability to determine the status of an order at any given time Follow any special instructions pertaining to an individual order Communicate positively with supervisors, sales staff, fellow workers and customers to coordinate deliveries/pick ups Operate a forklift safely and efficiently, maintain required certification, perform vehicle safety checks and report discrepancies to supervisor Assist in keeping facility clean, neat, safe and operating efficiently Follow all established policy and safety guidelines in a drug-free workplace Present a neat and professional image Follow company policies and procedures Other duties as assigned Requirements: Must be mechanically inclined Accuracy and attention to detail Recognizes and understands product numbers and alpha/numeric codes Understands basic inventory, warehousing and stocking procedures Able to work independently with some direction Capable of following written instructions and documented procedures Comfortable in fast-paced environment Able to perform simple math operations (addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division) Team player who works productively with wide range of people Must have truck driving experience (14ft or greater) Must have and maintain a clean driving record Manages time effectively and adapts quickly to changing priorities Effective listening, verbal and written communication skills Able to multi-task Problem-solving and analytical ability Stand/walk for duration of work hours Lift/carry/maneuver heavy material or equipment Pass a drug screen and background check Education: High School Diploma / GED Preferred Experience: Minimum 1 year in similar position preferred; Minimum 2 years in progressive position preferred Position: Full Time, Saturdays Required
