ROUND ROCK, TX — Back-to-school planning has already begun in Round Rock, with calendars available to help parents prepare for the first day in Round Rock ISD. The first day of school for most students in the Austin area is August 17. Heading into the upcoming school year, some dates are subject to change as the coronavirus pandemic nears its year-and-a-half point. A mix of in-person, virtual and hybrid learning is still possible in Round Rock. On Wednesday, Round Rock ISD Board of Trustees have approved to move high school early release days to full instruction days. The board approved amending the 2021-2022 calendar in a July board meeting. The change will stop high school early release days scheduled at the end of each semester to full instruction.
