HACKETTSTOWN, NJ — Atlantic Health System's Hackettstown Medical Center received special mentions in U.S. News & World Report for being a high-performing hospital for treating patients who are battling kidney failure and strokes.
Other hospitals within Atlantic Health were highly-recognized, including Morristown Medical Center, which was ranked New Jersey's top hospital by the publication for the fourth year straight.
Recognition was also given to:
Overlook Medical Center in Summit, which was picked as New Jersey's number four hospital, jumping from 12 in 2020. U.S. News also selected Overlook as the 18th top hospital within New York's Metro area, as well as having ranked high in eight "common adult procedures and conditions," as well as three specialities. Chilton Medical Center in Pompton Plains was considered high-performing in their care in and for Orthopedics, heart failure, COPD, kidney failure and strokes.Newton Medical Center in Sussex County was given a high-performing rank for its care of COPD, heart failure, kidney failure and stroke cases. According to a news release from Atlantic Health, U.S. News & World Report drew their 2021-2022 rankings from over 4,750 medical centers throughout the United States, evaluating 15 specialities, plus 17 procedures and conditions. Among the 15 speciality areas, there were 175 hospitals that were given rankings in a minimum of one speciality area, with some being given "high-performing" rankings in multiple areas.
