Pirates Of Emerson & Fear Overload Returning For 2021 To East Bay

PLEASANTON & SAN LEANDRO, CA — Pirates of Emerson and Fear Overload Scream Park, two Halloween-haunt traditions in the East Bay, are making their 2021, spine-tingling returns in Pleasanton and San Leandro. And organizers for both are hosting auditions for "scare actors." Those with a penchant for frightening folks, can sign up for Fear Overload's Sept. 12 hiring event, that includes make-up artists and support crews, as well as spooky staff. And for Pirates of Emerson, the job fair is at the Alameda County Fairgrounds in Pleasanton on Saturday and Sunday, Aug. 14-15, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., for "scare actors," plus make-up and production staff. And for those who prefer to be scared, as opposed to doing the scaring, the good news is the terror fests are making their scream-filled comebacks, after a year of pandemic-related cancellations of such events. Details still are in the works on dates and time for Fear Overload, but traditionally the attraction is held September to October at Bayfair Center in San Leandro. And Pirates of Emerson, a 30-year tradition in the Bay Area, is slated to return to the Alameda County Fairgrounds in Pleasanton as a walk-thru on select dates from Sept. 24 to Oct. 31. Tickets for the Pirates event already are on sale, and capacity is limited — so don't delay on booking your horror-filled adventure.
