Press release from the Chicago Public Library: July 28, 2021 CPL locations may need to close in response to a positive COVID-19 test result. To help you plan your visit to the library, here's up-to-date information about location closures. Closed in Response to COVID-19 When a CPL employee has COVID-19, their work location is closed for a deep cleaning. Any staff member considered a close contact according to Chicago Department of Public Health guidelines must quarantine for 14 days from the date of exposure. A location may close for multiple days if the number of staff quarantining affects our ability to operate the location. The length of the closure varies from case to case.
