Press release from the Chicago Public Library: July 28, 2021 CPL locations may need to close in response to a positive COVID-19 test result. To help you plan your visit to the library, here's up-to-date information about location closures. Closed in Response to COVID-19 When a CPL employee has COVID-19, their work location is closed for a deep cleaning. Any staff member considered a close contact according to Chicago Department of Public Health guidelines must quarantine for 14 days from the date of exposure. A location may close for multiple days if the number of staff quarantining affects our ability to operate the location. The length of the closure varies from case to case. There are no locations closed in response to a positive COVID-19 test result.
