Description
LAKEWOOD, OH — Back-to-school planning has already begun in Lakewood, with calendars available to help parents prepare for the first day in the Lakewood Schools.
The first day of school for most students in Lakewood is Aug. 19.
The Ohio Department of Health recently recommended students return to classrooms in-person, but with masks on. The department's chief medical officer — Dr. Bruce Vanderhoff — also recommended schools flow in as much natural air as possible, institute regular sanitation of shared surfaces, and implement social distancing wherever possible.
The Lakewood City Schools will make a decision on masks for the coming school year this week, a district spokesperson told Patch.
