COBB COUNTY, GA — Cobb County residents will have a chance to safely throw out old batteries, household cleaners, any flammables, lawn care products, fluorescent lights, paint, pool chemicals and more next weekend. Keep Cobb Beautiful is hosting a free household hazardous waste collection event Saturday, Aug. 7 from 9 a.m. to noon at Jim Miller Park, 2245 Callaway Road SW in Marietta, according to a news release from Cobb County. Registration is required to participate, and can be done so online with this Google Form. Recommended arrival time will be assigned during registration. No commercial waste or waste from businesses will be allowed. Agricultural waste, ammunition, appliances, bio-hazardous or bio-medical waste, explosives, syringes and needles, controlled substances, medications, tires, electronics, trash and radioactive materials will not be accepted.
