Press release from Split One Technologies: July 28, 2021 Cars were lined down the road at the Society of St. Vincent De Paul as low-income families received donated backpacks and school supplies. The donations were made by Scottsdale community leadership group H3 Phoenix. The local organization raised more than $40,000 worth of school supplies and backpacks. Society of St. Vincent De Paul Director of Food Services Danielle McMahon said it was amazing to have groups such as H3 donating school supplies right before the start of the new school year. "Last year was a difficult time for a lot of families, so it is fantastic to see groups such as H3 donating school supplies," McMahon said. "H3 has helped donate 600 backpacks full of school supplies." H3 is an organization of Arizona business professionals and non-profit professionals looking to cultivate an environment of generosity that creates thoughtful leaders who focus on community first. The organization was founded by Dave Kotter who owns commercial loan brokerage Integrity Capital LLC in Scottsdale. Kotter said that he started H3 to develop a large network of influential community leaders who wanted to engage and make a difference in their community. The backpack drive for St. Vincent is a way H3 members can engage and help their community. "The vision for H3 is to create a community that helps other people first," Kotter said. "One of the ways we are putting that in motion is through working with a great organization like St. Vincent De Paul. We are dedicated to their mission and plan to work with them every year." Development Officer at St. Vincent De Paul and H3 member Hannah Sanders said the best part about giving school supplies to families is seeing that it makes a material difference. "The heart of H3 is to serve people who don't have access to the things they need and giving out school supplies allows us to help young people who don't have those supplies through no fault of their own," Sanders said. "We are helping these kids in real time by giving them the tools they need to learn." H3 members originally felt that the original goal of $40,000 was too lofty, but they were happy to be proven wrong when they met their goal in two months. "We are so proud of the members of this group and the community around us," Kotter said. "I think the work we did here is going to have a strong impact on a lot of kids and hopefully take away the stress of some families by ensuring school supplies are not something they have to worry about."
