Preliminary Information:
On 7/23/21 around 3:22 am, officers responded to a vehicle collision at the location of 930 Howell Mill Rd NW. Upon arrival, officers located a single vehicle that collided into a building. Officers made with contact with the driver, Ms. Joy Alexandra Longley who was alert, conscious and breathing with sustained injuries to her mouth from the collision. Officers requested Grady EMS to the scene to assess Ms. Longley. During the crash investigation, officers smelled a strong odor of alcohol coming from Ms. Longley's person and asked her if she had any alcoholic beverages prior to the collision. Ms. Longley stated she had two alcoholic beverages prior and lost control on the road as she was driving home from a night club. Officers placed Ms. Longley under arrest. She was charged with DUI Less Safe, Driving on Roadway Lane for Travel and Reckless Driving. She was transported to Grady Detention.
