Press release from the Atlanta Police Department: 07/27/2021 Preliminary Information: On 6/16/21, around 2:29 pm, officers responded to 1739 Martin L King on a person shot. Upon arrival, officers located a male victim with multiple gunshot wounds. Witnesses stated after a verbal altercation suspects presented a gun and fired several shots. The victim was transported to Grady Hospital in critical condition, where he succumbed to his injuries. The suspects were described as two black males. Investigators are working to determine the circumstances surrounding this incident. This investigation continues.    UPDATE: Arrests Made in the June 16th Homicide at 1739 MLK Jr. Dr. NW The Atlanta Police Department is pleased to announce two arrests made in the June 16, 2021, homicide of 30-year-old Encre Styles Jr. at 1739 Martin Luther Dr NW. Investigators with the Homicide Unit were able to identify two suspects in this case, 24-year-old De'Shant Hester and 27-year-old Tahliek Hester and secured Fulton County arrest warrants for the charge of Felony Murder. On Monday, July 26, 2021, Investigators with the Fugitive Unit apprehended De'Shant Hester in Decatur, Georgia. Today, Tuesday, July 27, 2021, Investigators with the Fugitive Unit coordinated the surrender of Mr. Tahliek Hester. Both have been booked into the Fulton County Jail on felony murder charges. APD's Homicide and Fugitive Units continue to demonstrate relentless determination in investigating homicide cases, tracking down and arresting suspects and closing cases by arrest.
