Description

Are you in need of someone to walk your dog, feed your lizard, or play with your cats? I have experience working with animals of all ages, sizes, and species! I'm comfortable handling all kinds of animals from jumpy geckos and slithery snakes to energetic dogs and wiggly rats. I've worked in the animal room at the Lawrence Hall of Science, where I handled doves, pythons, chinchillas, mice, rabbits, and turtles. My role included taking out animals to show to museum guests, watching for signs of stress, and feeding and cleaning up after the animals. I've worked at Dioji, a doggy daycare where I supervised the play of dogs big and small to ensure safe play. I also was a doggy groomer where I trimmed and filed nails, bathed and blow dried dirty dogs, cleaned ears, and brushed coats. My current role is at the Santa Barbara Zoo as an educator. I am trained to take out and handle reptiles and amphibians to educate Zoo guests. The reptiles I handle range from small pond turtles and milky tree frogs to large sulcata tortoises and long bull snakes. I practice safe handling and am watchful for signs of distress. I also have my own puppy (Persephone) and a crested gecko (Queen Elizardbeth) that I take care of at home. If you're in need of any pet care, please let me know by texting or emailing me. Please include the following information: Species/breed of pet, type of care needed, pet's temperament, preferred schedule, and pay range. Thank you!
