Job Summary: The Facilities Tech I Performs general maintenance work, grounds and systems work and housekeeping support under general supervision. The Facilities Tech I will execute work within established procedures and processes under both verbal and written instructions. The Facilities Tech I is responsible to the Facilities Manager and works closely with the House Services Associates. Reports To: Facilities Manager Essential Functions: • Maintain an optimal level of cleanliness and organization at all times in all areas of the Ronald McDonald House. • Work with all staff to ensure that the Ronald McDonald House delivers a high standard of service to support the comfort, safety and care of each House guest. • Perform repair and general maintenance work of facility, grounds and building systems. Duties and Responsibilities: • Perform repairs or general maintenance work on facilities, buildings, grounds, and equipment. Including: painting, caulking, power washing and minor plumbing. • Perform minor repairs to occupied and unoccupied guest rooms, as needed. • Configure rooms for meeting set-ups, including seating and AV needs. • Assist in the set-up and break down of decorations, furniture, and party supplies for Charity and House events. • Clean, inspect and maintain emergency equipment and supplies. • Ensure that common areas, including activity rooms, hallways, conference /administrative offices, reception, great room, and kitchen areas are clean and free of trash and clutter. Utilize the cleaning tablet to ensure that restrooms and TV room are sanitized, cleaned, and stocked on a regular basis. • Inspect play, recreation, and exercise equipment to ensure cleanliness and proper working order. • Maintain the Courtyard areas including sweeping, spot mopping, watering plants, and keeping all areas free of trash and debris. • Detail clean guest rooms at the time of check-out, in accordance with cleaning checklists, ensuring that all room amenities are in place and the room is in good condition for the next guest. • Moving and assisting in the movement/relocation of furniture and/or equipment. • Conducts inspections of equipment and machinery to ensure correct operation and/or inventory. • Provide guidance and support to maintenance volunteer(s) and/or groups when assigned. • When necessary, may perform housekeeping duties including cleaning guest rooms, laundry general area cleaning and meal service. • Setting up and breaking down tables, chairs and other materials for meetings and events. • Perform other duties as assigned. • Must be able to climb and work from/on ladders. Knowledge, Skill and Experience: 1. Ability to communicate in English. Bi-Lingual (English-Spanish) capability is preferred. 2. High School or GED diploma. College education preferred. 3. Proficiency with computers fax, e-mail, and software programs including Microsoft Word, Access, Outlook, and Excel. 4. Ability to safely and efficiently utilize various power and hand tools. 5. Ability to follow both oral and written instructions. 6. Ability to communicate efficiently and fluently in both orally and in written form. 7. Ability to establish and maintain effective and cooperative working relationships. Physical Requirements: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand; sit; reach with hands and arms and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to walk and use hands to finger, handle or feel. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. Employee must be able to climb ladders and work at heights up to twenty-four feet.
