Description
Hospice companion volunteering is an opportunity to turn our attention to that which is always present in life and death -- our compassionate heart, our divine spirit, our need to express and receive kindness. Each moment we live in that awareness, giving attention to that which is always present, has the potential to heal, connect, transform. Bring the gift of your authentic self to be present with patients and families -- share life stories, contemplate current events, read poetry or prayer, hold hands in gentle silence. It is all a gift when offered unconditionally.
Spend 2-4 hours a week visiting with a hospice patient/family in your local Salem, Dallas, Stayton, Keizer, Woodburn, or Silverton and other Marion County communities.
Learn about hospice and soulful presence. The next hospice companion volunteer training is comprised of three sessions, August 21st, 28th, and 29th.
