Regional Distributors, Inc. is one of the largest distributors of commercial cleaning, food service, paper and packaging products and equipment in Western NY. We are looking for an experienced field Service Technician responsible for installing, maintaining and servicing commercial warewashing machines, chemical dispensing equipment, towel & tissue dispensers and floor cleaning equipment. The ideal candidate will ensure professional, first-rate, timely service and maintain Regional's high level of service standards. JOB RESPONSIBILITIES AND SERVICES: -- Regular preventative maintenance on commercial dish machines from a variety of manufacturers. -- Installation of dish machines, dilution control, and chemical dispensing systems, as well as towel, tissue, and hand care dispensing systems. -- Repair and service vacuums and other floor machines as needed. -- Provide recommendations to customer on proper equipment and chemical usage. -- Diagnostic and repair services on commercial dish machines and equipment from a variety of manufacturers. -- Identify replacement parts needed. -- Communicate with Service Coordinator regarding necessary parts to be ordered and repairs needed, including estimate of labor involved. -- Support and follow direction from the Service Coordinator in scheduling and dispatching service calls and installations. -- Participate in relevant service and industry trainings. -- Maintain knowledge of the company’s mission, product offerings, operations, goals, communications outlets and customers’ product needs. JOB REQUIREMENTS: -- Three years of relevant industry experience is required. -- Must possess mechanical, plumbing and electrical experience and knowledge. -- Strong troubleshooting and technical problem-solving skills. -- Strong relationship management skills, experience interacting directly with customers and understanding of customer needs and expectations. -- Excellent communication, planning and organizational skills. -- Maintain a highly professional appearance and demeanor. -- Flexibility to adapt and adjust schedule on a daily basis; ability to prioritize. -- Ability to work independently and as part of a team. -- Willingness to share in a rotating on-call schedule with 2-3 other technicians, in order to cover emergency calls after hours and on weekends. -- Ability to lift and/or carry up to 75 pounds, as well as frequently kneel, bend, squat, push, pull, and reach above and below the waist. -- Valid and clean driver’s license and DMV record.
