Area Rug Cleaning Technician (Albuquerque) Serafian’s Oriental Rugs is a well established local service company seeking a full-time Area Rug Cleaning Technician. We’re looking for a genuine ‘people’ person, someone who enjoys communicating and helping others on the phone, but primarily in person. We strive to maintain a positive work environment that encourages others to succeed. We expect our clients will receive a positive, professional experience at every encounter. No prior experience is required. New employees receive on-site training. Responsibilities include: The cleaning and handling of area rugs (this includes moving rugs that can weigh over 50lbs); communication with customers on the phone and in person; regular and repeated lifting and loading of items into and out of the delivery truck and customer’s homes; tagging, photographing, and documenting items; filling out paperwork; presenting different service options to customers; setting appointments with customers; resolving complaints; learning about our industry and our craft so that you can explain what we can and cannot do for our customers; the occasional need to help out at our retail location; general duties associated with maintaining a service truck and rug cleaning plant; and miscellaneous other duties as needed; General Attributes: Pleasant Outgoing Teachable Neat in appearance and manner Have legible handwriting Reasonably detail-oriented On time and reliable for work Must have own transportation with a clean driving record Able to lift bulky items weighing up to 50 pounds Occasional lifting of items heavier than 50 pounds Must have a general knowledge of the local service area Familiar with a computer, tablet, and smartphone Must consent to a background check Must have a cell phone Must be fluent in English in writing and on the phone, bilingual in Spanish is a plus Physical requirements: A rug cleaning technician will spend approximately 15% of the time sitting, 65% of the time standing or walking, 10% of the time stooping or kneeling, and 10% of the time carrying items. Some stair climbing included. Starting training wage of $12/hr with a 90 day trial period.
