Progressive audio visual and event production company seeks a production truck driver to support live events and the production department. Position reports to fleet manager. Our full scope of services includes comprehensive AV production solutions for corporate, social, live entertainment, staging, technology solutions and show management. This position is based in Chicago. Nights and weekends are required, and candidates should expect a variable schedule based on show site needs. Some interstate travel may be required. An outgoing personality, industry experience and knowledge of event logistics preferred. DESIRED SKILLS & EXPERIENCE Requirements: Ideal candidate will possess knowledge of audio visual equipment within the event production industry. Proper and safe transport of audio, video, lighting, and staging equipment is required, along with loading and unloading of company vehicles. Candidate must also be able to successfully interact with co workers on site, and maintain a professional demeanor at all times. CORE RESPONSIBILITIES Safely pack, transport, load, and unload straight trucks Safe lift gate and dock plate operation Ability to successfully back in tight docks and gangways without incident Execute vehicle checklists Setup and teardown of professional audio, video, lighting, and staging equipment. Interact with clients and staff in a positive and professional manner Work with shop staff when needed to prep and pack gear for live events Working knowledge of the city of Chicago and surrounding suburbs DESIRED CHARACTERISTICS Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently Strong ability to collaborate and coordinate Professional maturity, integrity, discipline and a positive attitude BASIC QUALIFICATIONS Knowledge of inventory management software preferred Two years of relevant work experience Valid CDL C, B, or A Class driver’s license Medical Card COMPENSATION Based on Experience COMPANY DESCRIPTION Sound Investment has become one of the fastest growing event solutions companies in the country.
