Description
Looking to rehome a neutered 2 years old male golden in the Portland area. Rehome fee applies. We are in no rush and looking for a perfect fit.
We would prefer Cooper to go to a home with small children, cats, or other male dogs as he fears children and does not get along well with other alpha male dogs. We strongly prefer to rehome Cooper to a family that does not have any other pets as he is a very needy dog. Cooper does do well with female dogs, and we are open to families with a single female dog.
Cooper, born 3/20/2019, is a well-trained adventure dog. He is great off-leash, loves road trips, hiking, camping, and swimming. He is crate trained, but has had free range for over a year now. Non-destructive with a guilty conscience. He doesn’t bark much and has never counter surfed. He is capable of using a doggy door and doesn’t mark. Cooper isn’t scared of fireworks or gunshots. He is eager to please and incredibly treat-driven. His favorite activity is swimming and he does not care to play fetch.
Cooper is a dog that requires much attention. We have 2 other female dogs, and while he loves them, in a normal golden way, he gets extremely jealous when we give them any form of attention.
He does great with other dogs when his sisters are not around. However, when we are all out as a family, he won’t let the girls play with other dogs. He gets overprotective of them, and it disrupts the energy with all dogs involved.
Cooper was an only dog for a year, and I believe he would do better as an only dog.
He is brilliant, thoughtful, and trained. I want him to go to someone who will further his training. I feel he would do better with a male owner or alpha female. Must have an active/outdoor lifestyle.
