My family took in Ruger, a sweet and friendly 5-6 year old German Shepherd who had been abandoned at a construction site. He is now in excellent health and ready for his forever family. He has gotten his shots and has been exposed to family, strangers and even our two other dogs, and has adapted beautifully. If you want a full grown, housetrained and incredibly sweet companion, Ruger may be just what you wished for. For some reason, Ruger is very shy around males but I think with an owner who takes the time to walk and socialize him, he will be just fine. Ruger is used to being in a home with people and/or dogs constantly around, so I don't want him going to a home where he is left alone all day, every day.
