Have you ever wondered what goes into making a record? What the difference is between analog and digital? The difference between a drum synth and drum machine? How to match an amplifier to a speaker? Or even what the heck the DJ is doing up there?!?! The music field is vast, and can easily be overwhelming when figuring out what role you’d like to play. When I first started, I wish there were resources available aside from just “music lessons”, which would have saved me countless time and money. This is a great opportunity to explore recording without making too much of an investment. My name is Adam. And these are just some of the things you’ll learn while working with me. I am offering private lessons in a field less thought of but that is essential to the music industry. I’ve been DJ-ing and producing music for 23 years. I also studied audio engineering and music recording at County College of Morris. I cover mainly electronic music genres but for conventional instruments and recording I do have formal education in this field and can provide this as well. While I do have a general lesson plan everything is tailored to the interest and skill level of the student. Just include your goals in your email or text. PARENTS: This is a great opportunity for your child to explore their interest in music before they make major financial and life impacting choices. Colleges offering courses like this such as Full Sail and Berklee can cost more than a 4-yr state university! Save time and money and give them a chance to explore the multi-faceted field of music. SOME OF THE TOPICS COVERED: • Signal flow • MIDI • DAWs and sequencers • Compression, EQ, Reverb and all other studio processing • Synthesis • The mixing process • DJing (Both with software and traditional turnables/needed) *Instrument playing a plus, but not required by any means. Must meet at my house (studio setup is not portable). Need to provide photo ID and Covid-19 vaccination card Mask is optional.
