Container gardens are regaining popularity. On August 24 & 31, participants will design and plant a custom container. Want to upgrade your plant contaners this season? Swap them out for a unique and hand-made container. What is hypertufa? a liquid mixture of portand cement and aggregates. Fabric is saturated with the blend, shaped and planted after curing. All materials provided. Lecture and hands-on experience combine science with art. Ideal for fern, fairy, table-top, dried arrangements and succulent gardens, draped hypertufa offers many options! August 24 - CREATE YOUR CONTAINER Guided through the process in the classroom, participants will move outside to blend portland cement and aggrgates, and drape a one gallon hypertufa pot. August 31 - PLANT YOUR CONTAINER After curing for a week, your container is ready to plant. This session focuses on care tips for the container garden. The emphasis will be on irrigation, fertilization and propagation. During this session, you will plant your cured draped container (plants provided). ATTIRE: This is an indoor/outdoor event. Closed toe footwear, hat and clothes you don't mind getting dirty. All extension and services are open to all without regard to race, color, age, sex, religion, national origin or handicap. Attendees often repeat and bring friends for this gardening experience.
