Benefiting Volunteers for Outdoor Colorado | Friendly Competition | Food & Beer | Student DJs | Free Admission University of Colorado Boulder students are invited to the first annual Made Here Backyard Games—an epic one-day event filled with friendly backyard competition, food, live music by student DJs, prizes and more… all for a good cause. Proceeds from the Made Here Backyard Games will benefit Volunteers for Outdoor Colorado (VOC). As the state's oldest outdoor stewardship nonprofit organization, VOC motivates and enables people to become active stewards of Colorado's natural resources. They provide a volunteer workforce for recreation and habitat improvement projects in partnership with land agencies, nonprofits and community groups. To learn more about VOC, click here. The Made Here Backyard Games will feature six exciting events including Giant Beer Pong, Flip Cup and a water balloon toss. Players and attendees can buy raffle tickets to win prizes, including swag packs and products from Made Here Beer, Sun Bum, USAopoly and local Boulder businesses. If you don't jump in on the raffle you can still go home with awesome free stuff if you are one of the first 100 people in the door! THE DETAILS Timeline The Made Here Backyard Games will take place on August 22, 2021. Doors will open at 2pm and the opening ceremony is at 2:30. Half Time will run about 40 minutes, providing attendees the opportunity to grab some food from the BBQ, enjoy the music and to get in on the fun with some games of beer die. The closing ceremony, which includes announcing the winners of the Backyard Games and the raffle, will be at 4:30pm. Team Registration Information Please have one team member register your team by purchasing a Team Registration Ticket. The ticket fee is a donation to Volunteers for Outdoor Colorado. Each team must have at least 4 and no more than 10 team members, each being a CU Boulder student and 21+ with valid ID. The individual that registers the team will will serve as the team's point of contact and receive an email with more information about the event, including game rules. The team contact will also be responsible for submitting the names and emails of all team members. Teams also have the opportunity to compete in a fundraising competition during the 48 hours leading up to the event on August 22. The team that raises the most money for Volunteers for Outdoor Colorado will win a Beer Die Essentials Kit with 2 Made Here Party packs (24 cans), a set of glow-in-the-dark dice and 4 Made Here pint glasses. Prizes Teams will compete for the following prizes: First Place: The Golden Made Here Beer Tap Trophies, $150 gift card for Made Here Beer at Hazel’s Beverage World, Made Here hats, pint glasses, koozies and stickersSecond Place: Silver Sam Medals, koozies, stickers and 50% coupons for Made Here apparelThird Place: Bronze Sam Medals, koozies, stickers and 25% coupons for Made Here apparelVolunteer Information We are looking for volunteers to help us make this event a success! Tasks include helping set up for each game, keeping score and selling raffle tickets. We will fill volunteer spots on a first-come-first-serve basis. As a thank you, each volunteer will receive a Made Here shirt to wear during (and keep after) the event and a meal ticket for the BBQ. This is a cashless event, so all transactions will be conducted on Venmo. You must be present when tickets are drawn to win. We are grateful for donations from Sun Bum and USAopoly. Food and Beer If you get hungry, we will be cooking up some hotdogs! Attendees can buy a meal ticket to get food from the BBQ. Similar to raffle tickets, all transactions will be cashless and conducted via Venmo. Made Here beer will be available free of charge. Beer will only be handed to attendees with wristbands from the ID check station. If you are 21+ and want to drink at the event, please bring a valid ID in order to get a wristband (and beer!)
