Create your own Japanese knot bag, an introductory sewing workshop.
A Japanese knot bag is a small open tote bag with asymmetrical looped handles, one of the handles slipping through the other to form a loose knot to close the bag. A variation of the drawstring bag, this type of bag was used in the past by Japanese women to carry small, light necessities like handkerchiefs or makeup. In this class you will be making a reversible bag approximately 12-inches by 17-inches – an ideal project bag.
These projects make great gifts for keepsakes. All materials will be provided. Some sewing machine experience is a bonus. Workshop space is limited, participants must sign up individually. There is no age limit but the class will move at a quick pace. Please sign up only if you can attend in-person.
Free and open to all. Watertown, Massachusetts.
Registration is required. You may not bring guests who have not registered.
