We are excited to share our love and passion for renewing furniture by simply painting it with chalk mineral paint. Learn the Basics on a small piece of furniture you bring in.... Prep - One Color Paint - Distress - Protect .... all in 4 hours! Best part is – you will leave with a small piece of furniture completely transformed by YOU plus the confidence and support to continue painting even after the class ends! (Sorry but we do not perform repairs, upholstery, or traditional restoration stripping & staining.) Cost: $125 – RSVP - Select your Color & Pay in Advance using the ticket link at least 2 weeks before class so that we can prepare for you. Register early as SPACE IS LIMITED! What do I bring? You will bring any small wood item: a shelf, a chair/stool, a small side table – nothing bigger than 2 feet tall/wide. A good rule of thumb: if you can carry it by yourself and it fits in your car's front seat; you can bring it! No sanding or prep work is needed before class just wipe the cobwebs and dust off. Also, consider wearing comfortable clothes and something you do not mind getting paint on – just in case. Also, consider how you are taking your freshly refinished piece back home with you. You may want to bring a blanket to cushion and cover your masterpiece for its ride home. What does Rose Joy Designs provide? Our classes are purposefully limited in participant size to provide a guided hands-on experience from an experienced instructor. We provide all the supplies and tools needed for you to be successful– from set up to paint, paint brushes, sand paper, and sealer, and let's not forget the clean up. We do it all except paint your piece! Plus, you get to keep what is left in your 8oz jar of Dixie Belle Chalk Mineral Paint and 4oz of Satin Clear Coat Sealer as well as the Zibra Palm Pro paintbrush. Just what you need to help you get started on your next project! Anything else??? 1. We need to know your COLOR selection at least 2 weeks in advance!!! Remember... you will receive an entire 8 oz. jar as part of your registration fee!!! There are 69 fantastic colors to choose from, so once you know your color email us at [email protected] or reach out through our Facebook event post, so we can make sure to have it ready for you at class. 2. Please send us a photo of your piece so that we can determine if your item needs any extra prep work with one of Dixie Belle's primers (Slick Stick or B.O.S.S.) before class to allow for drying time. Does it have a super glossy finish? Is it made of mahogany or a type of wood that is prone to bleed through if you plan to paint it a light color? Send that photo to [email protected]. FAQs Is there an age minimum to participate in this class? For this class, we suggest the minimum age to be at least 16 years old. What can't I bring to the event? Please do not bring large/heavy items as we cannot accommodate the loading/unloading necessary for the event. Plus, we only have a few hours together and it would take much longer for larger items like dressers, chest of drawers, etc. to paint/dry/seal. Will we be able to use stains, glazes, multiple colors? Great question. Generally these will all need additional prep and dry time. Please contact us prior to class so that we can discuss it. What if it rains? Can I leave my treasure at your store? Absolutely! We just ask that you pick up as soon as possible after the class date as we have limited storage space. Is my registration refundable/transferable?
