Description

A community conversation on gun violence and ways to eradicate it. Reginald Williams, a Behavioral Health Subject-Matter Leader, and Dr. Kevin Jackson, a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor, collectively with more than 40 years of cognitive-behavioral experience, will lay the foundation for reducing gun violence in Columbus County. We will engage in an honest dialogue that, at times, will prove challenging but rewarding. Gun violence in neighborhoods of color will never be solved with the removal of guns. It will be resolved with the removal of marginalizing practices. Candidates for political office most often campaign on building infrastructure. Unfortunately, the infrastructure never includes building the decaying infrastructure that grip communities of color. Before you be so critical of young King's egregious practices, please know every practice as an origin. Pull up the weeds of the pollutants planted, plant seed of promises (infrastructure) and you will harvest a plentiful profit with reduced gun violence. That's how gun violence is eradicated. Reginald Williams, raised in Chadbourn, N.C.; a behavioral interventionist, national speaker, consultant, and personal development trainer, is a subject-matter leader in marginalization, emotional identity, and cognitive identification. Reginald is a faithful disrupter of systemic structures. He's dedicated the past 18 years educating and being educated by young men of color trapped in impoverished predicaments. He has spearheaded youth programming, consulted with organizations to included alternative schools, and served as a critical team member in building initiatives to support Black boys and marginalized populations.
