Shitzu needs new home! (concord / pleasant hill / martinez) Please email for photos (to protect our privacy) Hi there! Writing this with a lot of sadness… Our sweet and very cat-like shitzu needs a new home. He is roughly 6 years old, black/grey/white. Potty trained. Does well at home while you are at work. He loves: - being an only “child” - people - laying in bed and on the couch with you (sleeps with you at night) - licking you (very affectionate) - parties with lots of people to pet him - lying all day in sunny spots in the house - belly rubs when he is sleepy - watching you eat - sleeping all day while you are at work - occasional zoomies He hates: - being picked up/leashes when he is trying to relax (will nip) - being moved when he is sleepy (will nip) - being groomed (NEEDS to be muzzled/take Benadryl before) - being touched while he is eating (severe food aggression) - other dogs (not aggressive at all, but a little skiddish) My husband and I had this precious dog for years, and then we recently had children that are growing into toddlers. Our dog has unfortunately nipped at our children when they get too close while he eats. He will NOT nip/bite if he is left alone while relaxing or eating. He is a family member, but unfortunately we cannot responsibly house him with small children in the home. Overall, he needs a place where he can get be the center of the attention and enjoy being an only pet. And a family without small children. We are trying DESPERATELY to not take him to a shelter! Small rehoming fee of $20…all we care about is that he goes to a loving and patient forever family.
