Description

Duties would include performing tasks in all areas and aspects of timber and general framing. The aptitude to work with tools, timbers, and materials are essential along with the capacity to lift and manipulate timbers. Work will include cutting mortise and tenon joints, surfacing and finishing timbers, moving material with the forklift, and traveling to help erect the frames. Construct and repair timber frames/packages, rafters, posts, beams, and trusses. Principal/Main Responsibilities and Tasks: • Traveling with crew to erect and install post & beam and timber frames in the Midwest region • Working with power tools (skill saw, belt sander, power drill, etc.) • Working with traditional hand tools (chisel, mallets, etc.) • Sanding timber • Distressing timber • Cutting and cleaning/squaring joinery on timber • Ability to effectively read plans and details Minimal Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required: • Experience in residential and commercial construction • Capable of using power tools with confidence • Carpenter, Framer, or Woodworking experience • Ability in problem-solving • Ability to travel with installation crews • Professional with a positive attitude • Self-motivated and confident. • Strong communication skills. • Ability to multi-task and meet deadlines
