Help pad training small dog

I recently purchased a teacup chihuahua after my long time dogs death. She's alone at home 10 hours a day, has a crate and I'm struggling to pad train her. I'm not interested in some high-dollar solution but a human being that is willing to help me help her and our relationship. Please feel free to contact me if you have any solutions or ideas.
